Audience: all schools
Cascade: Headteachers, School Business Managers
We apologise for sending this to you on the last day of term.
Thank you for everything you, your staff and governors have done this term. I think it has been the most challenging one we have collectively faced. The whole system feels stressed and difficult and I recognise the impact of this has been felt in your schools.
We do not wish to add to your burden and I genuinely hope you find some rest and time off with your family and friends this Christmas time. However, I can see that the situation with the emergence of the Omicron variant is changing rapidly and will continue to do so over the next few weeks. The new term is likely to see large numbers of infections, resulting in significant disruption to the availability of everyone’s workforce in the New Year.
In response to this we intend to put two information briefings in the diary for Tuesday 4th January. We know that this is an INSET day for many, but I think it is prudent to put them in for those who can attend, and we will send out an updated comms before 4th January where we can. We will be able to on this day take into account the latest national and local position, and share information about any changes in guidance as well as hear from yourselves.
Please do get on touch if you have any concerns or questions. Although we are taking leave at different times over the break, the best way to make contact with the LA is:
