Educational Visits - EVOLVE Staff updates |
Audience: All schools Cascade: Headteachers/Educational Visits Coordinators/Administrative staff
Please make sure that all staff accounts on EVOLVE are up to date. EVCs can create new staff accounts but if you have new starters who have moved from another North Yorkshire school we can transfer their account, this has the advantage of keeping the visit history in one place. If you need EVC or Head Teacher accounts amending the Educational Visits Business Support Team will need to do this for you. |

Second doses of COVID vaccines for 12-15 year olds – briefing for schools and families: |
Audience: Secondary schools Cascade: Parents/students as appropriate Similarly to the delivery of the first doses of the COVID vaccine to 12-15 year olds, the School Age Immunisations Team in Harrogate District Foundation Trust will lead on the school offer for second doses. The team will be in contact with schools to arrange visits and parents will receive communications regarding those as soon as possible.
In addition to the school offer, there is a community offer for 12-15 year olds who are eligible for vaccination. Walk-in vaccination clinics across North Yorkshire are available first or second doses (12 weeks after the first dose). People in this age group who have had COVID-19 recently can get their vaccine 12 weeks after their positive test. The national booking system can also be used to book appointments for 12-15 year olds.
More information and links to the national booking system can be found here.
Community clinics that offer vaccinations to 12-15 year olds can be found by following the links below – there are many clinics arranged for the next few weeks. Community clinics are set up by the three Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) that cover North Yorkshire; the North Yorkshire CCG, the Bradford and Craven CCG and the Vale of York CCG. North Yorkshire residents can attend any walk-in clinic, even if they live outside of the areas they cover.
• walk-in clinics in the North Yorkshire CCG area • walk-in clinics in the Bradford and Craven CCG area • walk-in clinics in the Vale of York CCG area
The vaccination programme is in place to help protect children and young people against COVID-19 and stop the spread of the virus within schools, families and the wider community. Vaccinating 12-15 year olds doesn’t just project them – by helping to stop the spread of COVID-19 this winter they will also be protecting vulnerable friends and family of all ages.

Notification of Staffing Shortages in Caretaking and Cleaning Teams |
Audience: All Schools Cascade: Headteachers, Admin Staff Throughout 2021, our teams have been proud to support schools with a continuous quality service and we look forward to continuing to work with your school to manage the risk surrounding Covid-outbreaks through high quality cleaning routines. As we deal with the increase in infections caused by the Omicron variant, the service, like many others in the current climate, is facing its own challenges with staffing. As we have done previously, we are taking a number of steps to mitigate any future risk to a reduction in the service capability: o Ongoing recruitment o Overtime where staff are able to do this o Caretaker cover where you are taking a caretaker service o Staff working across / covering additional schools o Ongoing liaison with schools over your risk assessment requirements We hope that this will mitigate the impact of Covid-19 on our staffing levels. In the event that we need to implement a reduction of some aspects of the cleaning schedule for a minimal period; whilst ensuring a minimum level of required cleaning is available; then we will be in touch with you and a more detailed discussion will take place to review how we can best support you. If, in the meantime, you have any questions about how the cleaning service is operating in your school, please speak with your cleaning management team.

To book a visit please contact Shannon Kirshner, whose details are on the flyer. In addition to being able to view the displays, The organisers would be happy by arrangement to combine a school group visit with a short talk about Judaism as part of the RE curriculum, and to answer students' questions. Places for school group visits are quite limited, so it is first come first served. CONTACT: Olivia Seymour – NYCC/SACRE Religious Education Adviser - Olivia.Seymour@yorkdiocese.org
