11th Wong Hock Boon Paediatric Masterclass Webinar Series 2022

Description

Held annually150 since 2011, this event focuses on general and sub-specialty paediatrics, continuing in the long tradition of excellent teaching from the department and honoring the legacy of our founding professor, Emeritus Professor Wong Hock Boon. The event has become a key platform for local and regional healthcare professionals to connect and share updates in the field of paediatrics.
Wong Hock Boon Paediatric Masterclass has lined up two exciting webinar sessions this year. The sessions will feature talks covering current challenges in general paediatrics and current management strategies for haematology and immunology.
This will be held on 6 and 13 August 2022 from 2pm - 5pm (GMT+8).
Registration closes on 1 August 2022. Zoom webinar ID and password will only be sent to you 1 day before each webinar session.

Programme
6 August 2022: Current Management Strategies for Haematology and Immunology This session will begin by delving into the cutting edge treatments in immune thrombocytopenia purpura, thalassemia and leukemia. The second half we will take a deeper look at the immunology behind the COVID-19 vaccine in children and learn how to approach immunodeficiencies.
13 August 2022: Current Challenges in General Paediatrics This session will begin with topics often encountered in the general paediatric practice, from nutritional supplementation and obesity to adolescent mental wellness. The second half addresses common concerns about what happens after acute COVID-19 infection in children and a haematologist's perspective to interpretation of the most commonly ordered laboratory test, the humble full blood count.
