ABOUT US

World Obesity Day takes place on 4 March annually around the world, and is a unified day of action to increase awareness of obesity. Obesity is a chronic disease which goes beyond being a lifestyle risk factor, with potential complications affecting every part of the body. Social media and misunderstanding about obesity often perpetuate weight bias and stigma.

This year, Singapore Association for the Study of Obesity (SASO) is bringing everyone together for an inaugural national event on 3rd March 2024. Our theme this year is “Obesity and Health” as we hope to raise awareness on obesity and its impact on all aspects of our health while empowering participants with knowledge and actions to improve health through fun & games

We will mark this commemorative day with a 3.4km walk around the picturesque Marina Bay Area. This walk is symbolic of our commitment to promoting physical activity and a healthy lifestyle.

There will be many interactive booths with games and activities sharing on weight management and healthier living. Expect lucky draw and booth prizes, as well as attractive goodie bags with healthy products & vouchers worth at least $40!

With healthcare experts from hospitals all across Singapore coming down, get a chance to ask your questions on how to manage your weight and bust common myths on weight management. There will also be an on-site free health screening with point of care tests for Diabetes, Hypertension and High cholesterol.

Venue: Customer Service Booth at Event Square, Marina Bay

What to bring: Digital or Physical copy of your registration confirmation slip

Note: For individual sign -up, please kindly indicate your bib number and show your confirmation email to our friendly staff at the counters to collect your walk packs.

For Team sign-ups, please note that only the Team Leader will be able to collect on behalf of their team's bibs, members are to wait for their Team Leader to collect and distribute their bibs after collection from our Customer Service Booth.

With more than 10 specially curated booths, expect a wide range of activities for everybody across all ages!

Healthcare representatives from all the public hospitals & private sector will be on-site to share evidence based information on healthier living & losing weight.

Walkers please kindly proceed to Customer Service booth to collect your bibs, take note that for Team bibs collection ONLY the team leader will be able to collect on behalf of your team.
