Job summary
As
a Children and Young People's (CYP) Commissioning Officer you will provide a
key supporting role across a range of strategic projects on behalf of the
Children and Young People's Team. This post involves strong partnership working
across trusts, local authorities, primary care networks (PCNs) and voluntary
sector organisations with a key focus on children and young people. The post
holder will have a key role and focus in respect of the commissioning agenda
including the NHS Long Term Plan and will be the key driver to deliver valuable
project management support across the Children & Young People Commissioning
Portfolio.
Main duties of the job
The Commissioning Officer will:
Be the lead for agreed work area. This will include the
development and delivery of the CCG’s operational plans including working with
colleagues to lead the identification, assessment and presentation to CCG members
of options relating to commissioning strategies and intentions and ensuring the
plans take into account public and user views.
Ensure the outcomes of service improvement and redesign are
accurately represented in contract documentation, ensuring that the contractual
agreement reflects the developmental work on redesign being taken forward.
Support the Head of CYP Commissioning to build
upon the work to undertake a detailed mapping exercise to identify any
commissioning gaps and service variation across the system and review the
Specialist Children's Services Service Specifications to ensure these are up to
date.

project plans, exception plans, action logs and maintain risks logs.
Schedule, plan and
record key work-stream meetings and following agreed processes for reporting,
escalating and responding to changing project priorities.
Utilise National and
Local data to help inform service review and planning.
Contribute to the
re-design of pathways.

Qualifications
Essential
- Educated to degree level or equivalent qualifications or
- equivalent experience
- Post Graduate Diploma level qualification
- Project management qualification or sound theoretical and experience of project and change management processes.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and or qualification
Desirable
- Evidence of additional personal or professional development,
- through gaining relevant specialist qualifications
Experience

- Demonstrable NHS or public sector experience in a project
- support /manager role
