Each session has a different topic and guest speakers. This month’s topic is assistive technology resources and tools to combat social isolation. Do you work with a person who is struggling due to social isolation and may benefit from assistive technology? DHS welcomes Amy Perron, an assistive technology specialist from the Minnesota Department of Administration’s System of Technology to Achieve results (STAR) program, to talk about assistive technology. Amy is a graduate of California State University, Northridge, assistive technology applications certificate program. Before joining the STAR team, she was an assistive technology consultant who sold equipment to a broad range of clients including private sector, non-profits, education and government agencies. Amy is passionate about helping people live life to the fullest and enjoys introducing technology options to make that happen.
